I am so bummed!! I faithfully planted what was labeled to be a cucumber plant beside my tomatoes. I LOVE cucumbers and tomatoes together. I noticed last week that the vegetable growing out of it looked suspiciously like a zucchini, but didn't let minor details like that bother me. But yesterday, when my next-door neighbor Lisa complimented me on my little garden and said, "Your zucchini plant is really taking off," my heart dropped to my toes. I told her, "I don't WANT zucchinis. I wanted cucumbers!!" She thought it was quite funny and promised me several zucchini recipes she has.
Here's my little garden. Closest to you are my two basil plants. Then lemon thyme, rosemary, oregano, and you can't quite see the chives in the picture. Then ZUCCHINI and two tomato plants.
I'm sorry. That is disappointing. Your garden looks really nice Angel. I need to do that. Flowers are pretty but fresh veggies-yum. I may do that next year with part of my flower bed.
ReplyDeleteHave fun tonight. I think I have everything done except for my mini-quiches and I wanted to do those today. I found one pineapple sherbet at Walmart. One out of a ton of all the other flavors. It was at the beginning of my shopping but I put it in my buggy anyway even if it did get soft. I was taking no chances! Love ya
that is so funny! especially because i totally agree... what a letdown to think you were getting something delicious like cucumber and instead get stuck with zucchini!
ReplyDeleteI am quite envious of your garden- what a green thumb you have! I've wanted to plant my own veggies for a while, but I'm just not sure we have a good spot for it. I may try anyway next summer. I was especially wanting some this year so Gideon could have extra yummy homemade food. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE zucchini, so I don't think that'd be too big of a disappointment. Eli even eats them raw (yuck!).
